Cask or keg? Yes. Beer is interesting, containers less so. We probably wouldn’t serve a big American-style IPA from cask, nor would we serve a fantastic English bitter from keg.
We love and support cask ale, and this is why you’ll find us in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. However….Watneys Red Barrel no longer exists – and the present-day equivalent probably comes in casks, has a name like “Doom Goblin”, is brewed to the lowest possible cost in a giant factory, and is marketed as a “traditional product” full of “taste” when in fact it is anything but.
Perhaps you strongly prefer cask ale, or only drink craft keg. That’s all fine – trust your own senses and enjoy drinking great beer!
